Just in time for the holiday season, Hallmark Canada has introduced earth-friendly greeting cards!

Hallmark's new green cards are printed on environmentally friendly stock. Most are printed on recycled paper while others are made from 50% sugar cane pulp and 50% recycled paper fibres.

"Hallmark has a long tradition of socially and environmentally responsible business practices," says Patrick M. Carr, Vice President of Marketing for Hallmark Canada. "By the end of 2008, we expect more than half of all Hallmark greeting cards will be produced on paper with recycled content."

"These cards have a noticeably different look," says Carr. "They are smaller than an average-sized card, and the paper's flecks indicate its unique materials. The envelopes are made from 100% recycled paper, and the cards are designed to be recyclable as well. It's significant because no new trees were used in producing these cards."

This innovative new line not only features boxed cards for the holidays, but additional individual-card designs with messages celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, babies, love and friendship.

So not only are these cards a great way to send personalized messages, they send a message that you're concerned for the environment.
